MassiveMusic - MMX - "We're 10"

In the summer of 2000, MassiveMusic heralded its birth with a rollicking party on a beach in Cannes during the annual International Advertising Festival. There was a full moon on that fateful Wednesday evening, and the stars shining brightly above were grouped into an odd, worm-like shape. Two Cannes virgins were sacrificed that night, although we had nothing to do with that...

A lot has happened since then. The seed that was planted in Amsterdam, still home to our head quarters, became a friendly little tree that started to branch out in 2004 when, again under the starry nights in Cannes, we had business intercourse with some Americans. As a result, MassiveMusic NewYork became a fact in 2005. Los Angeles quickly followed, opening its doors in 2008. A year later, ex-MassiveMusic Amsterdam creative director Diederik van Middelkoop set up our Shanghai studio, becoming the first international music production company to do so.

Now we are entering our tweens, and are celebrating this landmark with all who have helped us in the last decade. We have been privileged to work with the most exceptional creative minds in our industry. We have met thousands of dedicated and fun people through the years in Cannes and through the projects we have worked on. We made friends from Tokyo to Toronto. We were very lucky. We count our blessings. We're only 10. Come celebrate!

MassiveMusic & The Lift host ‘NO PARTY' at this year’s Cannes Lions

MassiveMusic and film production company The Lift announced today that they will be hosting ‘NO PARTY’ together on the beach in La Douce France on what has come to be known as the MassiveWednesday. This could be good news for the dancing deprived, lucky few planning to attend the Canneslions festival.

‘NO PARTY'
With many of the bigger networks cancelling their annual ad beach bashes earlier this year, MassiveMusic & The Lift felt that the need for doing ‘NO PARTY’ was perhaps bigger than in any of the previous nine years that the MassiveWednesday party has been held. When asked if MassiveMusic would be hosting an event in Cannes this year, Hans Brouwer (CEO) replied: “No Music. No Fun. No Dancing. No Cannes. No Party?…No Way!” He continued: “Of course we realize that this year, for many, it may seem inappropriate to be celebrating with industry colleagues from around the world. And it would be ridiculous to go all out and pretend like nothing is different this Cannes. But with all the somberness and negativity around, why not put our joint energy and positivity together and at least have one party like there’s no tomorrow (no pun intended).”

‘NO PARTY’ will be hosted on the NOGA Beach and will see a diverse crowd of MassiveMusic’s & The Lift’s clients and friends. The MassiveWednesday party is said to be one of the perennial highlights of the Canneslions festival.

MassiveWednesday 2008: The Rainbows End @ LaLaLand

It's MassiveWednesday time! And yet another edition of the annual MassiveMusic & GettyImages party at the Canneslions International Advertising Festival.

This year Cannes will be LaLaLand - a massive and colourful themepark at the Riviera. The main attraction in LaLaLand will be The Rainbows End. Follow the rainbow, and see your creative director and producer doing their disco-dancing moves near the pot of gold.

Behind the wheels of plastic we have The Disco Accidents (Massive's own Steve Johnsen & DJ Sietz) and Bang Gang Deejays (Ajax & Gus da Hoodrat), bringing you the finest LaLaTunes. Watch out for the invite e-mail you will receive from Joep. You know the drill.
