La Pelota (finally)

Picture 32

We composed this track for the EA Fifastreet 3 rooftop soccer film. After popular demand we decided to share it with you all. Thanks to Alejandro for being there with us that night and doing the kick ass vocals. Enjoy and let us know if you dig it.

The universal language of music

Here are two excerpts from the brilliant documentary "The story of the weeping camel" When a Mongolian nomadic family's newest camel colt is rejected by its mother, a musician is needed for a ritual to change her mind.

The two kids in the family travel to the nearest city to find a musician that will reunite the mother and the calf.

This is the most powerful documented example we know of how mysterious and immensely powerful the universal language of music is. Please go rent this movie. It will change your life. Well at least for a week or so.

Gonzales

Today, our friend WOES forwarded, or plugged us this teaser video from Gonzales. Mad creative guy, responsible for the unorthodox song 'Working together' that became a semi-hit through fifa 09.

This is a great example of how to tease the upcoming album and boost downloads. It's about self promotion, and getting fans to be your music plugger, by forwarding the teaser and start the conversation with peers. Just like we do now. It's just great.

Skis on asphalt

This morning we did some foley recording for a new commercial we are currently working on. This film needed 'real skis on asphalt' sounds. So we did.

Location: Oostenburgervoorstraat, Amsterdam, NL
Language: Dutch
Recording studio: Massive Jeep
Recording engineer: Aux
Stunts: Cris
Ass. Producer: Marc
Behind-the-scenes camera #1: Sietze
Behind-the-scenes camera #2: Joep
Man on bike: unknown
Skis: Hans Brouwer's 1985 water skis

This movie might feel a bit shaky - it's because it's December in this country.

We will keep you posted on the final results.

Massive Shanghai (3): our future office and studio

A little bit of Shanghai sightseeing and a pre-view of our potential office and studio space there, here fully under construction. That's a nice roof garden we got there.

Language spoken: Dutch.

Massive Shanghai (2): the opening party

Ni Hou! Here some footage of our opening party in Shanghai, co-hosted with Mattmo - a creative company from Amsterdam, which is also going overseas. Job Cohen, the major of the City of Amsterdam attented the party for the opening ceremony.

Massive Shanghai (1): How to order a chicken salad in Shanghai

Hans and Diederik from MassiveMusic visited Shanghai for the opening of our newest business there. They went for a lunch and are thinking of ordering an ordinary chicken salad. The menu is only available in Chinese and the lovely lady speaks neither Dutch, nor English. Well, good luck.

Ckicken meat ? Meat chicken? Chicken with meat?
